Wylde Ivy has a Myspace...

I've been toying with the idea to create a Myspace for Wylde Ivy for a long time. I love my personal Myspace for keeping up with my friends and thought it would be a great way to get to know more of my (or Wylde Ivy's) customers. So a few months ago I grabbed an account for Wylde Ivy intending to work on the page while I was on bedrest with my girls. Well the pregnancy proved to be very difficult and worrisome. I just wasn't able to work on the Myspace and I sort of forgot about it until just recently. So there is quite a bit of time that I'm sitting around just holding and feeding babies now, so I've decided to work on it again. Most of the typing I do these days is with one hand as the other hand is busy with a baby! It is a long process!

The Myspace for Wylde Ivy will be a trial run, to see how much I can keep up with it. Life can get pretty crazy when you are a new mom with four month old twins and your own business!

So next time you are on Myspace, stop by to check out my new profile for Wylde Ivy. It is still just bare bones right now, as it is a work in progress...a slow work when you can only type with one hand!

Aroma Melts are on the Way!

So now that I've gotten things stocked and organized around here I'm getting a chance to work on the Aroma Melts again. I may not be able to bring back every single scent in the Aroma Melts since my stock room is stuffed to the gills now, but I'll be bringing back the most popular scents.

So far I have completed Blueberry Muffins and Cinnamon Rolls. These two scents are some of the richest and most realistic bakery scents I have ever come across! They make me happy just smelling them. Cinnamon Rolls is such a perfect mixture of sweet and spice. You can actually smell the drizzled icing on this one. Blueberry Muffins is sweet true blueberry and cake batter...yum. I detest fake berry scents, so I get excited when I find one that is true to life. I've also completed White Lilac. This is the only Lilac fragrance that I have smelled that is a true lilac. Lilac is one of my favorite flowers and I would never use a fragrance that would not due the flower justice! Cran Mimosa Twist is one the production table right now. This is always a popular scent. It is so bright and cheery, it gives your mood a lift just being around it.

One new Aroma Melt scent that I'm testing is Teak. This is a scent that I recently used in the brand new Deli Soap with the same name. To me, this scent is so warm, comforting, and unique, it seems like a natural home fragrance. Keep your fingers crossed that this fragrance works well as an Aroma Melt...it is just stunning!

Looks like Frozen Coconut is a go!

Well it looks like Frozen Coconut is a go for next month. I'm excited to get started on it! I also have another scent in my mind that I'd like to do for Scent of the Month for July. So if all goes well, I'll have two scents for next month's Scent of the Month!

Can you handle one more Coconut scent?

I'm a coconut fiend! I can slather myself with coconut scents year round. I'm the person who smells like coconuts at the New Year's Eve party (in frigid Pennsylvania!). I have this coconut scent here that I've been playing with that I'm calling Frozen Coconut. It is actually the same scent I use in the Coconut and Soy haircare line. It is an intensely milky, delicious coconut that has cool, frosty undertones. It reminds me of frozen coconut sorbet!

So my question is, would you like to see this scent as July's Scent of the Month? You can give me your answer in the poll on the left! Since I have Coconut Island Castaway in the main line of scents this summer and Creamy Coconut as this month's Scent of the Month I don't want to overkill everyone on coconuts...unless you want me too!

New Perfume Bottles

I’ve received a few emails regarding the new perfume bottles. I have been noticing an increase in instances of leaking with the shiny silver sprayers and lids that I was using. I decided to make the switch to the matte silver sprayers after testing them for a few months and noting no leak issues. These sprayers do not come with a dust cap like the other bottles, but are shipped with a shipping clip in place to secure them in transit. My testers have not noted any problematic leaking during daily use with these new sprayers.

Some people have expressed a desire for the shiny silver sprayers with the silver caps that were used on the perfumes in the past. If you would prefer your perfumes with the old style sprayer and lid please just make a note in the comments section during checkout. I’d be happy to include one with your order for no extra charge. You will just need to trim the dip tube of the sprayer before applying it to you bottle.

If you are looking for a safe, secure way of traveling with your perfumes, you may wish to consider our perfume atomizers. These are glass bottles that are enclosed inside of an aluminum shell and tight fitting lid. They are perfect for traveling and are refillable!

Of coarse, if problems should arise with the new perfume bottles I will research new alternatives until I find the perfect solution!

Updates from the past few days....

Ahhhh, it has been a long past few days. Getting all the products ready for the summer release was a big accomplishment since I haven't been able to put the kind of hours in that I did in the past (before having 4 month old twins that is!).

Just some little tidbits that I've been meaning to post about and haven't had a chance.

Name that Scent Contest
A big THANK YOU to everyone who entered the contest. I received tons of great suggestions! It took a very long time to go through each submission and narrow it down. The final name I chose was OlivaBella. I'm actually still working choosing a new description for the scent (I received a lot of those as well!). The names everyone submitted were so good that I'm keeping a file. If I ever decide to use them in the future, or even build a scent around the name, I'll send some goodies your way!

One Woman Show
It is always embarrassing when I realize that I have made an error on the website, either in the form of a typo, misspelling, incorrect link etc. I do proof read...I really do (it is just sometimes I'm proof reading at 3 am and I guess I'm not that efficient at it). I want to apologize for that. Most of the time I'm trying to do four things at once. It has become even more difficult now as I am back to running Wylde Ivy completely on my own. I'm officially a one woman show here now and I'm still trying to get in that hang of running my family with the two newest additions to the mix!

Thank you so much to everyone who takes the time to write and report and errors or broken links that they find. Just remember, if something on the website is not working correctly for you, your user account goes awry, or any other silly little thing, you can contact me and I'll do my best to get it all patched up for you!

The Summer '08 Release Insiders Scoop #2

I have so much I want to do for this summer season that I might just do the summer release in two stages so the products that are ready now can be made available. It will depend on how much I can get done within this week. I want to be able to make some, if not all, of the products available on the website sometime next week.

The following scents are returning to Wylde Ivy for the summer season and will be ready for the first release:

Sandcastles
Coconut Island Castaway
Pink Strawberry Citrus
Iced Mango

There will also be four new scents ready at that time. Names still subject to change.

Juicy - Berries piled high, drizzled with hand squeezed lemonade and a touch of Jasmine petals on the breeze.

Sun Tea - Astringent bold black tea sweetened with lemon and vanilla infused sugar cubes

Island Beauty - A graceful, soft blend of island florals, creamy coconut milk, and sweet sugar cane.

Violet Sun - Candied violets on a bed of fresh lemon zest

There is also some great new soaps in the works! Stay tuned for me details

Name That Scent Contest

Wow! You guys really went above and beyond in the Name that Scent contest! The choice is going to be hard. I'm going to have to take a few days to dwell on this! I'll announce the winning name soon and will contact the winner via email. Thanks everyone!!
